The Role: Facilities Coordinator

Office based in Hoylake. Monday – Friday, normal working hours, 8.30am to 4.30pm, plus the requirement for occasional weekend working including overnight stays (UK only). £26,000 – £30,000, depending on experience.

Job Purpose

To ensure that the facilities at the company’s head office are fully maintained in an efficient, timely and cost effective manner and that all aspects of Health & Safety regulations are fully adhered to and to contribute to the smooth delivery of all Newhall activities, including marketing and events.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working with the Operations Team, and the wider business, actively engage and contribute to Newhall’s creative environment, bringing a blend of hands-on experience
  • Working with the Events Team support the delivery of client events, including shows and festivals, together with the maintenance of the exhibition trailer and event kit, and the ability to attend and support the Event Sales Manager with event materials lists and coordination
  • Working with Newhall’s independent consultant, actively ensure that all the requirements of Health & Safety legislation are fully complied with throughout the business and that Directors are immediately informed of any shortcomings or matters that need to be addressed to ensure the safety of employees, suppliers and members of the public
  • To ensure that all firefighting equipment is fully maintained and in good working order. Arrange fire drill practices are regularly held and that all matters relating to this are fully attended to. Liaise as required with local fire authorities. Act as Head Fire Marshal in the event of an evacuation
  • To manage the security of the building and its contents, including the control of keys. Ensure that all security systems are fully operational and properly utilised, for example in the event of out of hours working. Attend call outs and liaise with the police and the security contractor as required
  • Take pride in the upkeep of the buildings, internally and externally, the gardens and pathways and that Health & Safety requirements are fully met
  • Working with the Production & Operations Manager, liaise with, and overseeing while on site of, third party suppliers in regard to regular, and ad hoc, maintenance of the office site and equipment
  • PAT test equipment throughout the building (Training will be provided as required)
  • Provide First Aid as required, as a nominated First Aider (training will be provided as required), ensuring that the First Aid Box is appropriately stocked. Ensure that the Accident Book is readily available and kept fully up to date and that any accidents which require reporting are reported in a timely manner as appropriate
  • Remove waste from departments ensuring that confidential and recyclable items are dealt with appropriately and are properly disposed of to meet legislative requirements including the Data Protection Act
  • Arrange for the relocation and removal of equipment and furniture in the building as needed
  • Make deliveries and collections, including banking and, as requested, pick up and drop off visitors from railway stations

  • Other ad hoc duties or project work as directed by the Production & Operations Manager and/or the Managing Director

About you

  • Self-starter, who shows initiative
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Computer literate, including good knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications
  • Good communicator
  • Holds a UK driving licence
